Celebrate the Oscars like a star

Celebrate the Academy Awards at Marsha Brown with an elegant evening in their picturesque choir loft watching the Oscars live from Hollywood!

On Sunday, February 27, 2011 Marsha Brown will host a black tie evening with the Academy Awards! Looking for a reason to break out that special gown? Do you look devilishly handsome in a tuxedo? Want to dine in elegance amongst the stars?

The party will start with Red Carpet coverage and continue until the credits roll.  Watch your favorite Hollywood stars on the big screen while dining like luminaries (as if you really needed an excuse to order champagne and oysters!).

The full Marsha Brown dinner menu will be available as well as scrumptious specials and Hollywood inspired wines.  Our Hollywood themed evening will include contests, prizes and an Oscar pool.

Reservations begin at 5:00 pm and continue until 9:00 pm.  Seating is flexible so that you may choose which part of the Awards show you want to watch.  Of course, feel free to stay tuned in for the entire evening.

But this Thursday a new name will show up on Issac’s beer list.  Although not a newcomer to the local craft beer scene, River Horse Brewing Company from Lambertville, NJ will be hosting their first River Horse Night at Issac’s.  From 7PM-9PM come on out to enjoy River Horse’s offering as well as meet the folks behind the scenes who are responsible for brewing NJ’s finest craft beer. Celebrating German Culture at Biergarten Evening

This past Friday, August 27th, the Fonthill Museum held their annual Biergarten Evening.  In previous years, the event did not focus on any specific beer or style, but offered an extensive array of choices.  This year, however, Fonthill looked to Philadelphia Brewing Company and David April to extend his knowledge of German beers to the sold out crowd.  The main styles of German beer, the history of German brewing, the German process, and typical ingredients were all up for discussion at this tasting. Breakfast is Always Sunny-Side Up at Fred’s

A few simple rules make up the recipe for the perfect breakfast spot, Fred’s Breakfast in New Hope, PA.  The only problem is, there is a waiting list to get in. Instead of setting up like an average diner, Fred’s offers a $10 per year membership, which includes an exclusive key to the restaurant, unlimited daily coffee, and access to fresh breakfast on the river 7 days a week from 6 until 11 am.

With a few quirky rules like:

#2. If my wife should happen to mention that she thinks you are cute, I will shut your key off.

AND

#4. Fred Williamson has been my friend forever, so you have to put up with him. It’s not that difficult after you get used to it.

Spend A Night with M.O.M.S. (without the Nagging)

Maxwell's on Main Street

Last week, I stopped in at Maxwells on Main Street, aka M.O.M.S., in Doylestown to meet up with a group of friends for drinks & dinner.  Maxwell’s is conveniently located on Main Street in the center of town so it’s a perfect destination for meeting up if anyone is unfamiliar with the area.

Stopping in around 6pm on a Thursday, the happy hour crowd was beginning to arrive.  The bar seats were full, but in no way did the environment feel over-crowded or too loud.  I was surprised to see how expansive the establishment is, featuring a bar area with a extended room for seating, a quieter dining area on the opposite wall of the bar, outdoor seating, & an upstairs room, which they appear to use for events.  We decided to sit in the bar area and enjoy a round of drinks.
