At Bucks Happening, we’re always looking for ways to improve our health and wellness. We’ve tried acupuncture, a variety of exercise activities all around Bucks County, and our most recent adventure- a dietary cleanse. Suffering from frequent migraine headaches, I’m personally always on the look out for alternative treatments to replace the heavy medication I take to relieve pain, something that can get to the root of the problem rather than just treat the symptoms. I admit that I was not very familiar with Shiatsu Massage, but after reading about Lucy Goldstein from Shiatsu Therapy Plus, based out of lower Bucks County, I immediately knew it was something I wanted to try. Can you believe we are already only two weeks away from the big turkey day? (Wait until you see our Thanksgiving day guide!) But before the hustle and bustle of the holidays (don’t worry, we’ll have you covered there, too!), take some time to enjoy the events going on in Bucks County. Also, in honor of past and present military see our Veteran’s Day Guide for special dedication events.

Welcome to November! With Halloween behind you, there are just a few weeks to relax before the big holiday season arrives. Get out this weekend and enjoy the last few weeks of mild autumn weather. There is always something fun and exciting to do around Bucks.

Though the weather can’t decide if it’s summer or fall, we have gathered a great list of happenings to enjoy in a variety of climates. We picked a few inside and a few outside – who knows what mother nature will call for? In addition to this list, check out our Fall Guide and calendar for all the events happening throughout the season.
October is all about pumpkins and Halloween but it also is the time to think pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month. It is easy to show support by simply wearing pink throughout the month. The Eagles were seen this past Sunday sporting their pink gloves and cleats. (Of course, it is also red October for the Phillies!)
So many number people have been affected by this disease one way or another. Luckily, though, there are a variety of ways to support the cause in our own community & help in the continuing fight against breast cancer. Since this month marks the official Breast Cancer Awareness month, Bucks Happening put together a guide including events, support groups, and general information about breast cancer. So many great events are happening throughout Bucks County so you can help support the cause!
Today, Bucks Happening is all about taking some time to treat yourself. After all, in between back to school and meeting deadlines at work, we all deserve a little R & R. We already told you about soaking in Sundays with Spiced Apple Wine tastings at the Chaddsford Tasting room, and now there is another fabulous chance to spoil yourself this weekend.

Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse—for the people of WashTyme soaps, these are words to live by. In a world that has become so blinded by how efficient we can be, we forget sometimes how important it is to consider the products we are using and what processes were used to make said products. In many cases, there may be only one possible resource to make a product. In most, however, recycled materials can be used to create very useful, everyday materials. Wash Tyme is one of those products.
Last Friday, the BH team and I got to go to the Bucks County Academy of Fencing in Lambertville, NJ. We had been looking for a unique and equally challenging athletic experience and after coming across the Academy, our search did not need to go any further. I was extremely interested in trying my hand at something new. Head Fencing Master Maestro Mark Holbrow, a 36 year veteran of the sport, offered to teach me some of the basics. As a former collegiate soccer player and lifelong hockey advocate, I was confident that I would be able to learn the ropes fairly quickly. Easier said than done. (more…)
