Our first-ever BH happy hour, last month at 86 West in Doylestown, was a big success. Now, we are happy to announce that our second happy hour event has been scheduled! It’s time to hit up a new Bucks County hotspot, so which one will it be?
It will be early September, and the weather hopefully still be warm. Labor Day marks the time to start getting into Fall Mode. This is especially easy to do in Bucks County. Pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin patches, apple picking…and the Scarecrow Festival! I don’t know about you, but I’m psyched to see what kind of fall cocktails I will find. Want to know more? Read on my friends… (more…)
Last week I went to Stephanie’s to watch the Phils and drink some good beer. This sports bar and grill located at the heart of Doylestown offers a lot of fun activities throughout the week. After a rough start to my day, I just wanted to unwind but when I got there, I had a change of heart. With 36 different draft beers on tap I couldn’t help but expand my knowledge of fine microbrews. This all while playing Wednesday Philly sports trivia and watching the Phils. Needless to say my evening took a turn for the better.
There are few things in life that I have come to enjoy more than summer nights, cold beer, my Philadelphia Phillies, and good tunes. I have had the pleasure of enjoying these personal favorites quite often. Friday night, I decided to test out the Doylestown scene; I wanted to find a place where these passions could lie. Now, I must admit that I have not made the short travel from Richboro into “D-Town” very often. To me, it has always been that place that you think about later on and you say to yourself, “Oh man, we should have gone to Doylestown this weekend.” When I have found myself in this situation, I have always tried to rectify my decision with poor excuses. “I don’t really know the area” or “I’m not sure what kind of scene it is” are typical. Well, there are no more excuses from me. I could not have asked for anything else after Puck in Doylestown brought all those passions together all at once.
Last night, Bucks Happening hosted it’s 1st official happy hour at 86 West in Doylestown, and it was a BLAST!! Thank you so much to all the wonderful people who came out and made our first event a success. Look for more happy hours to be announced soon.
A special thanks goes out to the sponsors who donated the amazing give-a-ways: (more…)
Last night BH boarded the NJ Transit to head to a super fun event in NYC – the Pampered with Paige event hosted by Lisa Paige of 92.3 NOW. Have we mentioned lately that LP is a Bucks-er? The beautiful blond bundle of energy hosts the lunch time segment (I wouldn’t be surprised if she was having a dance party the entire time she’s on the air). (more…)
5 reasons why you should come to the Bucks Happening Happy Hour at 86 West in Doylestown:WHEN: July 27th 2010
TIME: 5:30 – 7:30
WHERE: 86 West, Doylestown

Maxwell's on Main Street
Last week, I stopped in at Maxwells on Main Street, aka M.O.M.S., in Doylestown to meet up with a group of friends for drinks & dinner. Maxwell’s is conveniently located on Main Street in the center of town so it’s a perfect destination for meeting up if anyone is unfamiliar with the area.
Stopping in around 6pm on a Thursday, the happy hour crowd was beginning to arrive. The bar seats were full, but in no way did the environment feel over-crowded or too loud. I was surprised to see how expansive the establishment is, featuring a bar area with a extended room for seating, a quieter dining area on the opposite wall of the bar, outdoor seating, & an upstairs room, which they appear to use for events. We decided to sit in the bar area and enjoy a round of drinks. (more…)

The bar at the Yardley Inn
Having grown up in Yardley, I have known the Yardley Inn for a number of years. Over that period of time, I’ve seen it take on different moods and flavors. I am really enjoying the most recent incarnation of the place. With a sizeable bar, great views of the Delaware River and an affordable menu, what’s not to love? (more…)

If you’re like me, you refuse to believe that summer is coming to a close. Fight the good fight: hold onto those flip flops, keep rocking the shorts and tees, and visit the outdoor bars of New Hope. Even if it youhave to throw on a sweater to enjoy the brisk night air, it’s still worth the trip. Here are a few of my favorites:
The Landing: Great place for a view It has a beautiful view of the Delaware River. I like to start either there so that I can see the sunset.
Havana: Another outdoor bar with lots of space and plenty of heat lamps. Their impressive music calendar has some sort of live music or event happening 7 nights a week. (more…)
