Last Thursday, April 26th, over 300 people came to Occasions in New Hope, PA to celebrate the most happening people, places, events, and businesses of Bucks County- making for one hell of a happening party!

Bucks Happening held the First Annual Happening List Red Carpet Bash to commemorate the finalists and winners of the 2012 Happening List. Winners, finalists, and guests made grand entrances on the red carpet, with photographers and videographers on site to capture the excitement.

Occasions/Memorable Affairs delivered a delicious array of passed hors d’oeuvres while the team from Jamie Hollander, the 2012 winner of the “Most Happening Caterer,” provided a beautiful crudite display table, highlighting their work with Heritage Conservancy’s Farm to Table event (winner of “Most Happening Foodie Event”). Happening Women: Maria Calasso

The final feature in our series of Happening Women in March is Maria Calasso.  She is the owner of a beautiful little spa called Sublime (located just off Richboro Road in Newtown).  The first floor offers standard salon services, while the second floor boasts a full service spa, complete with massage rooms and pedicure stations.  Though obviously busy, the staff was immediately warm and attentive to me as I walked in.  I sat down with Marian to find out more about her business and the things that inspire her.

Happening Women: Dr. Annie Buinewicz

Upon arriving at Dr. Buinewicz’s offices in Buckingham, I relaxed into their spacious conference room, eager to meet the woman behind one of the premier medical spas in Bucks County.  The environment was both chic and cozy, a welcome setting to those looking to embrace wellness and beauty.

For over twenty years, Annie Buinewicz has been practicing medicine, with many of those years spent building Buinewicz Plastic Surgery and Le Medspa which she operates alongside her husband in both Buckingham and Flemington. As part of our March Happening Women series, we sat down with Annie to find out about her 24 years of experience in medicine, why she chose to specialize in cosmetics, and what it’s been like to build a business while raising three boys.

BH: I understand that you started off your career as a Medical Director at a major pharmaceutical company.  What inspired you to make the transition to work with a local cosmetic enhancement business?

AB: Well, professionally, I loved the idea of making people feel better about themselves.  Bucks County isn’t Beverly Hills; our patients are often receiving procedures that have a major impact on their lives- acne treatment for the self-conscious teenager, rhinoplasty for a young adult who never had a broken nose properly set, Ultherapy to help an older executive gain confidence before a big interview.
