
Over the years Bucks County has developed an impressive local music scene, having been home to a number of artists who have seen both regional and national success. One such band is Brooke Shive and the 45s. The group is known for their strong vocals, solid lineup, and distinct vintage vibe. Moving effortlessly between rock, blues, and soul – the band offers live energy in spades.
Their devoted fans propelled Brooke Shive and The 45s to winning the coveted “Most Happening Band” category in Bucks Happening’s 2012 competition! To celebrate the win, the band will take the stage at our upcoming Happening List Bash on April 26th.

Come celebrate Irish-American heritage and culture in Bucks County at the 24th Annual Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day Parade! The 2012 Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kickoff at 10:30am from St. Joseph the Worker Church in Levittown, and will proceed along New Falls Road towards Conwell-Egan Catholic High School in Bristol Township.
Joan Osborne with Erin Hill & her Psychedelic Harp will take the stage at New Hope Winery on Friday, January 20th at 8pm.
In a career that spans over fifteen years, Joan Osborne has proven to be an artistically restless and consistantly enthralling performer. Starting with Osborne’s breakthrough, debut album Relish, which sold five million copies worldwide and yielded the smash hit “One of Us” as well as scoring seven grammy nominations.
Erin Hill is a singer, harpist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, screenwriter, actor and science fiction geek. Radio 3, BBC says “Beautiful! Voice exquisite, words telling tales everyone wants to hear.” She’s had a #1 album on the Billboard world chart, and in the Top 40 on the Independent chart (2009). She’s a singer, songwriter and musician on the Dream Jam Band’s major label debut on EMI (2010). She’s played with Kanye West, moby, Enya, a-ha, Cyndi Lauper, Levon Helm, etc. and has played solo at The Royal Albert Hall. She is also known as The Pretty White Girl on Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show. (more…)
Billboard recognized artist and Newtown native Jared Costa is releasing his sophomore album “This Dizzying Pace and the Aftermath”, and locals are invited to the CD Release Show on Sunday, January 7th at Puck in Doylestown.
Costa started playing harmonica at the age of 10 and has gone on to create a unique blend of folk-inspired music, his sound being compared to Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Bob Dylan. He sets harmonica melodies up against acoustic guitar harmonies, creating a beautiful accompaniment for his deep, soulful voice.
Origivation Magazine gave Costa’s album its highest accolade, an “Onwards and Upwards” and “Iconic” rating. After a near 35 city tour in 2010, Skope Magazine named him as one of their “Artists to Watch”.

This year, Michael Amery found a special way to show his respect for veterans. Amery, proprietor of the Inn at Bowman’s Hill, a luxury 4 diamond bed & breakfast nestled in the woods of New Hope, had enrolled to host several veterans at his inn in via the “Better Way to Stay” program. After meeting the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs (General Martin Dempsey) recently, he was inspired to up the ante. He invited the “Bishop of Jazz” Rio Clemente, also a veteran, to perform for the guests of the inn. (more…)
On Monday November 7, 2011, the Montgomery Bucks Music Awards are rocking out at Triumph Brewing Company in New Hope, PA. Starting at 7pm, a $10 cover at the door ($5 in advance via musicnominations@aol.com) will grant you access to a wide variety of performances from the best in local talent.

This Veteran’s Day, bed & breakfasts across the country, including the stunning The Inn at Bowman’s Hill in New Hope, are saying thanks to veterans with a grand gesture. A group of over 700 Bed & Breakfasts across the U.S. & Canada have joined together with “A Better Way to Stay” to honor Veterans with a “B&B for Vets” program. (more…)
