We are also happy to report that renovations for the Playhouse that have been ongoing since February are on track for its grand opening on July 2. Check out the details on this season’s schedule and get your tickets now.
If you’ve been following along with our Photos Of The Week at Bucks Happening, you may have noticed the recurring photography of JC Sager, a local photographer with a love for dogs. His passion for photography is matched only by his passion for canines. He owns Bucks County Dog Walks in Yardley. According to BCDW’s website, they have a simple goal: to supply the most personal care and attention to their clients and their clients’ four legged friends. We recently sat down to talk with JC about his work with photography and dogs. After speaking with JC, we definitely think they’re reaching their goal.

This weekend marks the 31st annual Shad Fest in Lambertville. The festival began in 1981 as a method of highlighting the great local art that Lambertville and New Hope have to offer. It coincided with the first blooms of Spring and the annual shad run. The festival has grown from a local celebration to an award-winning regional event.
OK, so first things first: What is a shad? The American Shad is the largest fish in the herring family. Every spring, shad migrate from salt water to fresh water to reproduce. Fishermen call this the “annual spring shad run.”
Shad Fest offers a fantastic variety of family, fun, art, food, culture, and (yes) shad. (It’s OK if you don’t like seafood, because there is a great variety of food at the fest!)
Fresh Dog, a new company that’s launching two awesome pooch-cleaning products, is teaming up with Bucks Happening to spread the joy of better smelling pups. One Bucks Happening reader & dog owner will win:

UPDATE 5/4: CONGRATULATIONS CANDY CANE!!!
This week, we continue our celebration of Women’s History month with a feature on Odette Myrtil.

Born on June 28, 1898, Odette Myrtil was an actress, musician and costume designer who played an important role in the creative culture of New Hope during the second half of the 20th century. She was born in Paris, France, and found success as a musician and an actress by the time she was a teenager. She appeared in many productions on Broadway and in the theaters of Chicago, London, Los Angeles, and Paris.
OK, so it’s only Monday, but we have some serious Spring Fever. As a result, we decided to post a little inspiration for what is sure to come: blue skies and warm weather! Long live the 70° days! (This particular inspiration was captured at the 2011 Middletown Grange Fair)
