New Hope Celebrates: 2012 Pride Week!

New Hope and Lambertville will host their 9th annual pride celebration May 13-May 20th.  The event has been a huge success in previous years and has drawn large crowds from all over the Southeastern Pennsylvania region.   Once again this year: there is sure to be something for everyone!  The annual celebration includes: great LGBTA events, the area’s largest parade, block party, vendor fair, theater, arts, history, shopping, charming accommodations,great dining, live music, dancing and much more.  New Hope has long been known for its diverse and supportive community and this year will be no different.  As always, everyone is welcome to attend! Happening List Bash Photo Recap

Last Thursday, April 26th, over 300 people came to Occasions in New Hope, PA to celebrate the most happening people, places, events, and businesses of Bucks County- making for one hell of a happening party!

Bucks Happening held the First Annual Happening List Red Carpet Bash to commemorate the finalists and winners of the 2012 Happening List. Winners, finalists, and guests made grand entrances on the red carpet, with photographers and videographers on site to capture the excitement.

Occasions/Memorable Affairs delivered a delicious array of passed hors d’oeuvres while the team from Jamie Hollander, the 2012 winner of the “Most Happening Caterer,” provided a beautiful crudite display table, highlighting their work with Heritage Conservancy’s Farm to Table event (winner of “Most Happening Foodie Event”). While the attendees sipped on their Russian Standard signature cocktails, Brooke Shive & the 45s, winner of the “Most Happening Musician/Band” took the stage twice to perform a few popular hits off of their new album. The United Way of Bucks County Launches Bucks Women a Bucks County Women’s Initiative

The United Way of Bucks County has launched its Bucks County Women’s Initiative, Bucks Women. The 2012 kick-off event for Bucks Women, Power of the Purse, will take place on Thursday, March 8, 2012, International Women’s Day. This grant-making dinner and auction, which celebrated its 20th year in 2011, will remain a signature event for Bucks Women. Lynn Doyle, host and executive producer for “It’s Your Call with Lynn Doyle,” will serve as emcee.

A nomadic journey for pizza

Nomads Pizza CompanyAt Bucks Happening, pizza is always a hot topic. There are few foods that evoke as much debate and loyalty as one’s choice of preferred slice.  It’s been a few years now since we originally stumbled upon Nomad Pizza, nestled on a beautiful green property on Broad Street in Hopewell.  Then we revisited the artisan pizza mecca in our Tour de Food series.  So when we heard that Nomad Pizza was going to be opening a second location in Philadelphia, we were excited that so many more people would get the opportunity to experience the magic.

It’s been a long road to dual-state citezenship for Nomad Pizza, a road that was traveled in a 1949 REO Speedwagon.  Stalin Bedon and Tom Grim custom-created this classic ride for the express purpose of redefining the term “pizza to go.” Bucks County had the pleasure of experience the quirky fun pizza shop a-go-go at the Washington Crossing Brewfest in May 2011.
