The Happening List Red Carpet Bash is just a over a week away, and at Bucks Happening, we are more excited than ever! Below is a sneak peak at what attendees can expect at the First Annual Happening List Bash:

Happy New Beer’s Eve everyone! Wait, what? OK, OK, first, a little history: The unofficial holiday of “New Beer’s Eve” is held every year on April 6th. It commemorates the official end of prohibition in 1933. On March 23, 1933, the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed in to law by president Franklin D. Roosevelt – making it legal to sell beer again beginning on April 7th of that same year. As a result, people gathered in lines around breweries and taverns on the evening of April 6th in great anticipation of the legal purchase and consumption of beer for the first time in 13 years. According to our extensive research, people have since referred to the day as “New Beer’s Eve.”
You may have noticed that we, at Bucks Happening, like our beer. We often highlight new brews coming to town, seasonal offerings, and tap takeovers. So we thought it fitting to officially highlight this unofficial holiday and….take the opportunity to talk more about some new brews coming to town.

Listen up beer fans: Riegelsville will soon be home to a new Brewery. Long-time friends Phil Adams and Stone Gahagan (“PS” in the interview) are all set to open the Ringing Rocks Brewery. Their passion for beer and small business turned brewing from a hobby into a startup in only four years. We recently had the chance to talk beer and friendship with the two owners. Judging by their sense of humor, the brewery will be a lot of fun.

This spring, a new restaurant is blossoming in Lambertville. Much like it’s name, the cuisine at Brian’s is inspired by simplicity, serving the rustic country fare of Provence and Northern Italy. Brian’s atmosphere blends white-table cloth elegance with some casual touches- a single fresh flower on each table, a wood-burning oven, breakfast offerings on the weekends, and friendly approachable servers. The blend make for both a unique and enjoyable dining experience.
The menu offers both casual and high end choices- from pizzas to handmade pastas to lamb shank- making it a good choice for a small group dining experience. Since Brian’s is BYOB, you can further set the mood for the evening by bringing along beers or wines to match your taste. (more…)
In case you’re still looking for a way to kickoff the weekend, Shaving Grace Barbers in Doylestown will be hosting a launch and tasting party for the newly-minted Doylestown Brewing Company (DBC) tonight (March 9th) from 6pm – 9pm. DBC currently offers three unique craft brews. Union Street IPA, R-5 Lager, and Fountain House Light. Currently brewing out of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, the company is searching for a Doylestown space for seasonal brewing and a tasting room.
The curtain is about to rise on the Bucks County Playhouse. Under the joint leadership of Peggy McRae, Director of Community Affairs and New York producer Jed Bernstein, these two visionaries are spearheading a second act for the Playhouse, transforming the iconic theater from bankruptcy and returning it to Equity status. Equity status allows the theater to bring live music to productions. McRae and Bernstein are hard at work planning a gala and two phases of renovations; the first to return the building to safety and compliance code. An open house for the community scheduled for February 16 from 5:30- 7:00 will feature a presentation by the architect overseeing the renovations as well as Bernstein who will present his artistic vision for the future. Kick your weekend off with a RELAXING breakfast by the fire or on the porch.
After a long week, there are few things better than spending a weekend morning enjoying a relaxing breakfast. However, in the heart of bustling Newtown, there has long been a shortage of breakfast dining options to satisfy the locals. Those plans of a stress-free morning quickly fade away when you have to wait forever to sit down for breakfast. Luckily, now there is another option…
The Green Parrot, which has been a hot spot in Newtown ever since opening in 2009, is now offering an impressive (and cost-friendly!) breakfast menu. Having already met the demand for a great sports bar; expanded the town’s lunch options; and created a unique atmosphere with a spacious porch and cozy fireplace, they’re now setting out to create the ultimate breakfast experience.
