New Hope and Lambertville will host their 9th annual pride celebration May 13-May 20th. The event has been a huge success in previous years and has drawn large crowds from all over the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. Once again this year: there is sure to be something for everyone! The annual celebration includes: great LGBTA events, the area’s largest parade, block party, vendor fair, theater, arts, history, shopping, charming accommodations,great dining, live music, dancing and much more. Last Thursday, April 26th, over 300 people came to Occasions in New Hope, PA to celebrate the most happening people, places, events, and businesses of Bucks County- making for one hell of a happening party!
Bucks Happening held the First Annual Happening List Red Carpet Bash to commemorate the finalists and winners of the 2012 Happening List. Winners, finalists, and guests made grand entrances on the red carpet, with photographers and videographers on site to capture the excitement.
Occasions/Memorable Affairs delivered a delicious array of passed hors d’oeuvres while the team from Jamie Hollander, the 2012 winner of the “Most Happening Caterer,” provided a beautiful crudite display table, highlighting their work with Heritage Conservancy’s Farm to Table event (winner of “Most Happening Foodie Event”). While the attendees sipped on their Russian Standard signature cocktails, Brooke Shive & the 45s, winner of the “Most Happening Musician/Band” took the stage twice to perform a few popular hits off of their new album. Beginning May 25th, New Hope & Lambertville will host the kickoff to its 3rd season of Friday Night Fireworks. The annual event, put on by the New Hope & Lambertville Chambers Of Commerce, has become a huge hit among locals. Each week, the celebration draws a sizable crowd of individuals and families looking to kick off their warm summer weekends with a bang (pun intended, but someone had to say it!) We have really enjoyed this event each year – it really brings the town together and it helps to make the summer weekends at little more festive.
Bucks Happening & Russian Standard have teamed up to search for the Most Happening Cocktail in Bucks County, which will be served as a signature cocktail at the Happening Bash on Thursday, April 26th. We asked some of the best bartenders in Bucks County, including the nominees, finalists, & winners of the Happening List Bartender and Specialty Cocktail categories, to submit their recipe for the signature cocktail show-down! The Happening List Red Carpet Bash is just a over a week away, and at Bucks Happening, we are more excited than ever! Below is a sneak peak at what attendees can expect at the First Annual Happening List Bash:

When a remake of the 1980s cult-classic, Footloose, hit the theaters last year, few would guess that the film’s plot would hit so close to home within our community just a few months later. A grassroots movement is gaining support on various social media outlets, proposing that Bucks County should ban “loud” music and dancing at establishments throughout Bucks County after 8pm.
“We live in Bucks County because we want to live a quiet and calm lifestyle,” one resident explains, “If kids want to party, they can go into Philadelphia or New York, just not in my backyard.” (more…)
In case you’re still looking for a way to kickoff the weekend, Shaving Grace Barbers in Doylestown will be hosting a launch and tasting party for the newly-minted Doylestown Brewing Company (DBC) tonight (March 9th) from 6pm – 9pm. DBC currently offers three unique craft brews. Union Street IPA, R-5 Lager, and Fountain House Light. Currently brewing out of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, the company is searching for a Doylestown space for seasonal brewing and a tasting room.
