FREE CUPCAKES!
Did that get your attention? Over the past few years, the once simplistic dessert has taken on a life of it’s own, with bakeries across the country transforming the bite sized treat into intricate delicacies. Shows like Food Network’s Cupcake Wars have only added fuel to the fire, showing the public that the world of cupcakes has moved way beyond vanilla.
Now, Bucks County residents can join in the fun at the first ever Cupcake Contest at Select Jewelers in Feasterville! This Saturday, May 19th, bakeries from around Bucks County- Feasterville Family Bakery, Rilling’s, What’s for Dessert, Van Earl’s Cakes, and Schenk’s Bakery- will compete in the ultimate cupcake competition. Bucks Happening’s Tina Paparone will be on hand as one of the official judges. (more…)

With the spring showers and sun in full effect, you may have noticed a few Farmers’ Markets popping up on the weekends. May marks the beginning of the season for many of these local hot spots, which can draw quite a weekly crowd. The recent resurgence of enthusiasm for buying local and buying healthy has helped to make farm markets a weekly tradition for many. Bucks County is fortunate enough to have a number of fantastic seasonal outdoor markets for shoppers looking to buy fresh produce and other products that were made or sourced locally.
With National Ice Cream Day around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with a jog?
This year’s Jog n’ Hog lands on July 15th and for readers who do not know, it is a 4 mile run with a break halfway through for a quart of Uncle Dave’s Ice Cream. The fitness and food combination event is happening at Shady Brook Farm. Participants should be prepared to run on dirt roads. Racers are also asked to bring one non-perishable food item for the Bucks County Housing Groups Penndel Food Pantry.
Along with the main event, there is a child-friendly version of the Jog ‘n Hog for participants under the age of 13. Simply replace the 4 miles with 200 yards and the quart of ice cream with three ounces of ice cream, and you’re all set! (more…)

If you’ve been following along with our Photos Of The Week at Bucks Happening, you may have noticed the recurring photography of JC Sager, a local photographer with a love for dogs. His passion for photography is matched only by his passion for canines. He owns Bucks County Dog Walks in Yardley. According to BCDW’s website, they have a simple goal: to supply the most personal care and attention to their clients and their clients’ four legged friends. We recently sat down to talk with JC about his work with photography and dogs. After speaking with JC, we definitely think they’re reaching their goal.

They came, they saw, they conquered…and then they partied! Check out the video recap of the 2012 Happening List Red Carpet Bash.
