This month, Bucks Happening is celebrating the holidays by bringing you the 12 Days of Christmas! Each weekday from December 1st through December 16th, we’ll cover something amazing about the holiday season in Bucks County- sites to see, happening holidays events, the best local gifts, and all sorts of other goodies.
For “Seven Swans-a-swimming,” we’ll take a closer look at the beautiful sites to see in Bucks County throughout the holiday season…just in time for the weekend!
Ahh, Labor Day! Sure it is nice to get a day off of work but it also marks the end of one hot summer season. Of course Bucks County always holds some of the best events in the area for the holiday weekend. Say goodbye to summer with a bang by attending some of these fun Labor Day Happenings around Bucks County.
New Hope Fireworks, Friday, September 2nd,: If you haven’t seen the fireworks yet, you have a few more weekends to get to New Hope for the big show! (they’ve been extended into September due to rain cancellations throughout the summer). A spectacle of lights over the Delaware River takes place at 9:30pm on Friday nights. Orchestrated by Garden State Fireworks, a glittering ten-minute firework show will illuminate the sky over the Delaware River for the summer season. In addition, most retail businesses on both sides of the river will stay open late. The fireworks displays will take place, at the same launch site each week, about 500 feet south of the New Hope Lambertville Free Bridge, about 500 feet offshore on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware river. In the case of inclement weather, please check the website by 12 noon on Friday’s for possible cancellations. (more…)
Though I have no doubt spent hours admiring the picturesque Delaware River in my 20+ years spent living in Bucks County, until recently I had not participated in one of the most popular local river activities- tubing!
Held back by irrational fears of encountering ugly river creatures, I had always opted to enjoy the view from one of the many river-front dining establishments in Bucks County. Having finally taken the plunge (quite literally!), I am certain that even the most beautiful of outdoor patios along the river cannot compare with the stunning 360 degree view experienced from an inflatable tube! I cannot believe I’m already in week 3 of the Bucks Happening Hot Yoga Challenge at Riverflow Yoga- 15 classes gone by! This week has been the most mentally challenging yet, but also the most rewarding. My body is stretching into positions I never would have thought possible just a few weeks back, and I am already feeling fairly confident about my upcoming beach vacation.
I can honestly say that this month has been one of the busiest of my life so finding 90 minutes to spare, five days a week has been just as challenging as making it through the class! Still, I am fairly certain that Hot Yoga has been the primary reason I haven’t had some sort of stress-related breakdown yet. Though most nights I am not getting full nights of sleep, practicing hot yoga has kept me alert and energized. (more…)
