Feast Your Eyes on Stockton Market

Stockton Farmers MarketThere’s no doubt about it; Bucks County residents love their local, especially when it comes to farm fresh food. In a country dominated by fast foods and genetically modified meats, we’re lucky to be surrounded by sprawling farms and passionate locals who work hard to provide the community with top-quality products.

Bucks Happening recently stopped in at Stockton Market, located just seconds away from the Delaware River in the heart of Stockton, NJ.  The deceptively spacious store is home to a unique indoor farmer’s market, which is open year-round with regular vendors including local purveyors and artisans, farm fresh produce, artisan cheeses, savory fresh breads and pastries, organic beef, free-range chicken, seafood, organic coffee and teas, smokin’ good BBQ, a chocolatier, hand made baskets and more.

On a lazy Sunday morning, we mosied on over to browse through Stockton Market’s unique vendors, several of which come from Bucks County including Simple Living 101 of Erwinna, El Mariachi of Plumsteadville, and My Fresh Coffee Scoop of Pipersville (more…)

Oh Mamma! Restaurant Impossible Comes to Bucks

Chef Irvine of Food Network's Restaurant Impossible at Belle Basket in Warminster

It’s been quite the week for foodies in Bucks County! At around 2:30pm on Friday, June 24th, Chef Robert Irvine of Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible (and also Dinner Impossible) surprised visitors at Warminster’s favorite Italian specialty shops, Belle Basket & Altomonte’s Deli.

Chef Irvine & camera crews have been in town all week filming an upcoming episode of Restaurant Impossible at Mamma D’s Italian Restaurant in Pipersville, PA. In fact, at the event Chef Irvine teased Mamma D’s owners, Chef Louie Desiato & Elizabeth Desiato, who had yet to see their new & improved restaurant after it’s $10,000 makeover.  (more…)

Last week, we announced our biggest contest EVER on Bucks Happening, an amazing give-a-way of $10,000 worth of wedding goods & services to 1 lucky local couple.  Today we kick off round 1 of voting to determine the contest finalists on our Facebook fan-page.  Check out the album “Wedding Contest Entries” and vote for your favorite couple by “liking” the photo. Announcing the BH Holiday Lights Contest!

There are few things more exciting than driving around during the holiday season to look at all of the beautifully decorated homes. And this year it’s getting even more exciting with the Bucks Happening Holiday Lights Contest!

It’s simple, send in your Bucks County holiday home photos to contest@buckshappening.com along with contact information- including name, phone number, and address (we won’t share your exact address with viewers, just towns).

We’ll post the pictures on our website and the photo with the most votes by midnight on 12/29 wins a $100 gift certificate to Montgomery Mall (perfect for some last minute gifts)!  Just outside Bucks County, Montgomery Mall features four department stores, JCPenney, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Sears along with 150 specialty shops including Hollister, Gap, and LOFT.
