Start the weekend off with a laugh as Comedian Reverend Bob Levy takes the stage at Puck on Friday night at 7pm. One of the funniest, most irreverent comedians on the circuit today. Bob is on many radio shows. When it comes to working the crowd, Bob consistently works them into a frezy! People say he’s over the line, blunt, and politically incorrect, and oh yeah, funny. He does not go on stage and pick on people, he is a polished, well groomed act that took years to create and audiences are loving it. Bob’s knack for off the cuff humor is the best in the business! Don’t miss out on all the fun at this year’s Grange Fair, running through Sunday, August 21st. The Fair builds upon Bucks County’s rich tradition as a farming community, offering visitors a glimpse at antique farm equipment, showcasing just about every kind of farm animal (horses, cows, sheep, pigs), and hosting a variety of agricultural-themed competitions throughout the week.
It’s time for one of Bucks County’s biggest summer events, the 63rd annual Middletown Grange Fair, happening Wednesday August 17th, 2011 through Sunday, August 21st, 2011.
The Grange Fair builds upon Bucks County’s rich tradition as a farming community, offering visitors a glimpse at antique farm equipment, showcasing just about every kind of farm animal (horses, cows, sheep, pigs), and hosting a variety of agricultural-themed competitions throughout the week.
Beyond the farm, though, the Grange Fair also offers a busy schedule of family-themed events- musicians, pie eating contests, pageants, and even a couple Hershey dessert contests! The entertainment scheduled is jam-packed with creative routines- from a dog-comedy routine appropriately titled “Mutts Gone Nutts” to Elvis tributes to the Wild Wild West Show. (more…)
A new hand-crafted ice cream parlor has arrived in Wrightstown, just in time to deliciously cool us down in the July heat! While Upper Bucks has been enjoying OWowCow‘s sweet treats for a couple of years already at the initial Ottsville location, OWow’s latest Lower Bucks location only recently opened its doors on July 5th, 2011. Bucks Happening stopped in to get the (tasty) scoop!
All of OWowCow’s flavors are hand-crafted from the good stuff- locally sourced, organic ingredients made in small batches. Owners, John & Tina Fezzuoglio, are extremely passionate about the ingredients used in their premium ice creams. For example, Espresso Bean uses locally roasted coffee beans; Mint Chocolate Chip is made from organic mint grown at Peace Tree Farm in Kintnersville; and the fruit for Just Peachy is grown in Solebury. They’re committed to the preservation of local family farms, natural, sustainable food production and the conservation of Bucks County’s majestic beauty. (more…)
