Throughout the month of March, we are highlighting some of Buck County’s most Happening Women. This week’s featured Happening Woman is Pam Gifford. She co-owns Holland Floor Covering in Newtown. It’s a family-owned flooring company specializing in hardwood, carpet, tile, laminate, and vinyl finishes. We recently sat down with Pam to talk with her about her business and her inspirations.

Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup
In a town that primarily serves up pub grub and pizzas, Siam Cuisine has been spicing up the restaurant scene throughout Bucks County for years, serving authentic Thai food. Dishes range from piping hot soups to spicy curries to tasty stir-fry and noodle dishes.
We arrived in Buckingham close to 9pm on a Sunday, which, in Bucks County, often means you’re out of luck! However, Siam not only promptly seated us, but allowed us to enjoy the meal at a leisurely pace. (more…)
Are you ready for the biggest St. Patrick’s Day party to ever hit Newtown?
The 2nd Annual Irish Festival will be held Friday & Saturday, March 16th & 17th, at the Green Parrot Restaurant Pub & Patio. The Irish Festival will kick off at noon on Friday March 16th and will continue through St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday March 17th, featuring a 30’ x 90’ event tent on Silo Drive next to the Green Parrot!
The Festival will also feature Irish step-dancing on the Patio by Rince Ri Irish Dance and Nicholl School of Irish Dance. The Green Parrot will be serving traditional Irish Food including Corned Beef & Cabbage and Shepherd’s Pie. Live Irish Music performances both in the Event Tent and the Restaurant & Pub will include: The Boys of County Bucks, McHugh & O’Neill, Ray Coleman, The Naturals, The Interns and DJ Johnny Bones will be spinning your favorite hits late night in the Pub.
In true St. Patty’s Day fashion, the event is sponsored by Guinness Irish Stout, Smithwick’s Irish Ale, Harp Lager and Jameson Irish Whiskey. (more…)
At opening on Wednesday, March 7th, Isaac Newton’s will be tapping the Flying Dog Kujo Imperial Coffee Stout (8.9%). Once created as an experimental release simply named “Coffee Stout”, the Kujo now has a permanent spot in the annual rotation and will be available each winter. Brewed with locally roasted coffee from Black Dog Coffee out of Summit Point, West Virginia, the beer is described as,
“Deep black color with mousse-like head. Chocolate, black, and roasted malts. Vanilla and chocolate aroma and flavor. Flaked barley and oats for a creamy texture. Dry finish and slightly roasted coffee after taste”
This limited Imperial Stout won’t last long!

Come celebrate Irish-American heritage and culture in Bucks County at the 24th Annual Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day Parade! The 2012 Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kickoff at 10:30am from St. Joseph the Worker Church in Levittown, and will proceed along New Falls Road towards Conwell-Egan Catholic High School in Bristol Township.

Isaac Newton’s in Newtown will be turning over the taps to one of their favorite breweries, the Southern Tier Brewing Company! Archie, the local representative from Shangy’s who distributes Southern Tier, will be on-site to tap a ridiculous Southern Tier arsenal!
