Bucks Bakers Throwdown in Cupcake Competition

Did that  get your attention? Over the past few years, the once simplistic dessert has taken on a life of it’s own, with bakeries across the country transforming the bite sized treat into intricate delicacies. Shows like Food Network’s Cupcake Wars have only added fuel to the fire, showing the public that the world of cupcakes has moved way beyond vanilla.

Now, Bucks County residents can join in the fun at the first ever Cupcake Contest at Select Jewelers in Feasterville! This Saturday, May 19th, bakeries from around Bucks County- Feasterville Family Bakery, Rilling’s, What’s for Dessert, Van Earl’s Cakes, and Schenk’s Bakery- will compete in the ultimate cupcake competition.  Bucks Happening’s Tina Paparone will be on hand as one of the official judges. There is an amazing deal currently happening at Kyoto in Trevose that was just too good not to share…and just in time for the weekend!

For a limited time, a large portion of the menu at Kyoto (pictured below) is being offered at 50% off – including a wide variety of standard and specialty sushi rolls as well as hibachi options.  The posh new restaurant, which opened it’s doors back in September, is also a BYOB, making dining out at Kyoto an absolute steal.

Bring in the Bucks: Belly Busters Poker

A “Situation” at Parx Casino

I’m sure many of you had heard that Jersey Shore cast member, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, was at Parx Casino on Friday, April 1st. No, it wasn’t an April Fools! When I first saw this I thought, “The Situation!?? IN BUCKS COUNTY!???” I had to go! Despite the eye rolls, that I’m sure that exclamation just caused, Jersey Shore happens to be my guilty pleasure.
