Holiday Shopping Deals at Rice’s

When it comes to holiday shopping, deals are at the top of consumers’ wish-lists.  It’s hard to believe that we’ve celebrated four holiday season since the economy slipped into a recession in December 2007.  While main street consumer are still feeling the effects of the economic slump, the savviest holiday shoppers are learning to make the most of smaller budgets.

One way that locals in the Philadelphia regions are making the most of their holidays budgets is by visiting Rice’s Market in New Hope, a thirty acre outdoor market open on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Vendors come from all around, as they have for over 100 years, to sell their goods.

  • Amish Meats & Baked Goods

  • Antiques and Collectibles

Veteran’s Day Piano Celebration at Inn at Bowman’s Hill

rio-clemente-inn-bowmans-hillThis year, Michael Amery found a special way to show his respect for veterans.  Amery, proprietor of the Inn at Bowman’s Hill, a luxury 4 diamond bed & breakfast nestled in the woods of New Hope, had enrolled to host several veterans at his inn in via the “Better Way to Stay” program.  After meeting the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs (General Martin Dempsey) recently, he was inspired to up the ante.  He invited the “Bishop of Jazz” Rio Clemente, also a veteran, to perform for the guests of the inn. One thing that I love about the holidays is finding the perfect gift for my loved ones, knowing I will see  huge smiles on their faces when they unwrap their big surprises.  In my opinion, giving is even more fun that getting!
