Bucks Happening and Lehigh Happening are proud be sponsors of this year’s Gourmet Getaway, Cuisine for a Cause, happening Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
All proceeds benefit the Women in Business Scholarship Program, which provides educational funds to deserving Bucks County women to gain knowledge, improve job skills and give back to the community. Since 1983, the Chamber has awarded over $239,564 in scholarships through this program.

On Friday October 28th from 5pm to 9pm, Del Val College will host a Special Needs Youth (STARS) Halloween Night Out. For special needs youth, this event will include a friendly hayride around the Del Val Campus and a brief visit with the animals, pumpkin picking, cider and hot chocolate (for purchase) and socializing around a bonfire. $6 per person. On Sunday, September 18, 2011, many families in the Northampton area will be taking part in the exciting BIKE THE BASIN event, an event originated by kids, involving kids, to benefit people all over the world. The Bike the Basin event is the brainchild of three Ivyland siblings, Michael, Mitchell and Karissa Smedley. Michael (11) and Mitchell (8) are affected by a rare blindness called Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA). LCA is the most severe form of Retinitis Pigmentosa. The gene responsible for their blindness is CRB1. CRB1 is the second highest incidence of LCA, but research has been slow to focus on it. (more…)
