You can run, but can you Hog n’ Jog?

With National Ice Cream Day around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with a jog?

This year’s Jog n’ Hog lands on July 15th and for readers who do not know, it is a 4 mile run with a break halfway through for a quart of Uncle Dave’s Ice Cream. The fitness and food combination event is happening at Shady Brook Farm. Participants should be prepared to run on dirt roads. Racers are also asked to bring one non-perishable food item for the Bucks County Housing Groups Penndel Food Pantry.

Along with the main event, there is a child-friendly version of the Jog ‘n Hog for participants under the age of 13. Simply replace the 4 miles with 200 yards and the quart of ice cream with three ounces of ice cream, and you’re all set! (more…)

Single In The Suburbs: Music Brings Us Together

What’s it like being a single, twenty-something, gal dating in Bucks County? Follow Single in the Suburbs as she takes us on her dating (mis)adventures! For more fun in between articles, follow her on Twitter.

There are few things that bring people together like music. Some of my best memories in high school are of going to shows and creating memories with new friends.  The shared love of a band is a great icebreaker.

When I finally entered my twenties, a whole new world opened up to me as I became eligible to see live music at local bars and clubs.  Going to see a band is one of my favorite activities and it breaks up the routine of just ‘bar hopping’ every weekend.  You never know what the night will bring, but no matter what, it’s always fun and entertaining!  It’s great to follow bands around the area, because you start seeing familiar faces and building connections just by going to shows.  I’ve created some great relationships over the years by meeting other fans at live events.
