There’s no doubt about it; Bucks County residents love their local, especially when it comes to farm fresh food. In a country dominated by fast foods and genetically modified meats, we’re lucky to be surrounded by sprawling farms and passionate locals who work hard to provide the community with top-quality products.
Bucks Happening recently stopped in at Stockton Market, located just seconds away from the Delaware River in the heart of Stockton, NJ. The deceptively spacious store is home to a unique indoor farmer’s market, which is open year-round with regular vendors including local purveyors and artisans, farm fresh produce, artisan cheeses, savory fresh breads and pastries, organic beef, free-range chicken, seafood, organic coffee and teas, smokin’ good BBQ, a chocolatier, hand made baskets and more.
On a lazy Sunday morning, we mosied on over to browse through Stockton Market’s unique vendors, several of which come from Bucks County including Simple Living 101 of Erwinna, El Mariachi of Plumsteadville, and My Fresh Coffee Scoop of Pipersville (more…)

Linda Shick
Bucks County is known for having some pretty dangerous roads and intersections. If you’ve ever navigated the many intersections of Street Road during rush hour, or driven down the windy, wooded back roads of Central and Upper Bucks, you know the potential dangers: distracted drivers, deer, dark roads, etc. No one is more aware of these dangers than Attorney Linda Shick, who has dedicated her whole life to litigating accident cases where people have been hurt through no fault of their own.
Linda is a partner with Naftulin& Shick, a personal injury law firm located right in Doylestown, Bucks County. A graduate of C.B. West High School, she received her JD from Rutgers University School of Law in New Jersey. She’s currently a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association as well as the Bucks County Bar Association.
Linda represents hundreds of people in Bucks County (and surrounding counties) who are injured due to car collisions, workplace accidents, vicious animals, negligent property owners, construction accidents, and careless truck drivers. She helps victims recover their lives back and get back on their feet in the aftermath. (more…)
Solebury School Alumnus Jeff Vespa’s first break as one of the Hollywood’s best known red carpet photographers happened quite by accident – or maybe it was fate. In May 1998, Jeff was working at a job he didn’t like much, when he found an internet job listing that read, “Wanted: Photographer for Red Carpet premieres in Los Angeles.” At first, Jeff thought it a joke, but printed out the ad and kept it on his desk.
After a few days, he decided to call. What could he lose? On the phone, the voice at the other end asked him, “Are you available tonight?” Jeff said, “Yeah, I’m available.” Their regular photographer had moved and they needed someone to cover the Bulworth premiere with Warren Beatty, he was told. Jeff needed a flash, a battery pack, and a zoom lens, all items he did not own. The one thing he did own was a good Canon camera with a 50 mm lens. (more…)

Is it bad to “crack” your back or neck a lot?
GFC: This question is frequently asked because people associate the “cracking” or “popping” of one’s back or neck with a chiropractic adjustment. The two are not the same thing. If a person has a desire to “crack” his/her neck or back it is often because one area of their spine is fixated or jammed causing another area to move too much and “pop”, sometimes by itself. It’s the fixated or jammed area that needs to be properly adjusted by a chiropractor so that the other parts of the spine will not be hypermobile and noisy. When you “crack” your back you may be relieving the tension for a little while. Do you notice how it keeps coming back? That is because you are not giving yourself a specific chiropractic adjustment. Super Rainbow Roll at Kyoto via Alexus on Foodspotting
There is an amazing deal currently happening at Kyoto in Trevose that was just too good not to share…and just in time for the weekend!
For a limited time, a large portion of the menu at Kyoto (pictured below) is being offered at 50% off – including a wide variety of standard and specialty sushi rolls as well as hibachi options. The posh new restaurant, which opened it’s doors back in September, is also a BYOB, making dining out at Kyoto an absolute steal.
We have no idea how long this is going to last, but a Kyoto rep confirmed it’s currently being offered on week nights AND weekends. So go ahead- head out to eat without the guilt! (more…)

Are you starting the year with a “brand new you” like I always tell myself I’m going to do and then forget about by this time? Don’t worry, I’m not going to post any tips on resolutions or what you should do to change yourself. I’m sure you’ve read enough of that by now. What I’m really excited about for 2012 is the movie line-up. After receiving my weekly email from the County Theater in Doylestown, I’ve become very excited for the upcoming films – The Artist, The Iron Lady, Melancholia among many more! (Also, The Dark Knight Rises in the summer!!!)
This got me thinking about one of my favorite movie dates. It was with a Princeton grad and we saw Black Swan, which was excellent, in my opinion. (more…)
SOPA threatens the freedom which allows capitalism to thrive in America. To place such strict controls on the Internet is no less threatening than placing those controls on freedom of speech as a whole.
We’re just beginning to tap into the incredible power of the Internet- improved resources, targeted services, the seamless sharing of information around the world- and all of that progress hinges on our ability to stop SOPA from passing. (more…)
